There are countless hair types nowadays: straight, curly, kinky, wavy, afro, Mediterranean etc. The diversity of hair makes a stylist’s work more interesting but also more complex. Cutting, colouring and balayage training has been around for decades but there’s been a rise in courses to get to grips with curly, kinky and afro hair in recent years.

As training head specialists, we wanted to adapt to this new market quickly.

The hair all comes from India so it starts off straight. The hair is treated in factories in China using rollers to make it look curly.

The first model we designed was the Léa. An afro hair training head.

The model can be used for colouring balayage, straightening and smoothing.

It was such a huge success that we brought out the Stella training head with 60cm long hair a year later.

We’ve still got lots of ideas and new products to introduce to you… there’s even an afro men’s head joining our catalogue soon!
